Accessibility Policy
Accessibility Policy
Fabcrest Metal Products Inc. is committed to providing accessible services and employment opportunities that respect the dignity, independence, integration and equal opportunity of people with disabilities. We work to prevent and remove accessibility barriers and meet our applicable obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
Accessible Customer Service
We communicate in ways that take each person’s disability-related needs into account. People with disabilities may use their own assistive devices when accessing our services.
We welcome support persons and service animals in areas open to customers and visitors, unless a service animal is excluded by law. If an animal is excluded, we will work with the person to arrange another way to access our services.
If a service or facility that people with disabilities rely on is temporarily unavailable, we will provide notice as soon as practicable explaining the reason, expected duration and any available alternatives.
Accessible Information and Website Assistance
Upon request, we will provide accessible formats and communication supports for information covered by applicable accessibility requirements, including this policy. We will consult with the person to determine a suitable option and provide it in a timely manner, at no more than the regular cost charged to others.
Emergency procedures and public safety information that we make publicly available will be provided in an accessible format or with communication supports as soon as practicable upon request.
If you have difficulty accessing information or using our website, please contact us for assistance.
Accessible Employment
Accommodation is available upon request throughout recruitment and selection. We will notify employees and the public of its availability. Applicants selected for an interview or assessment will also be notified that accommodation is available. We will consult with applicants who request accommodation to arrange suitable support.
Successful applicants will be informed of our employee accommodation policies. Employees will receive this information as soon as practicable after starting employment and whenever relevant policies change.
Upon request, we will consult with employees to provide accessible formats and communication supports for information needed to perform their jobs and information generally available in the workplace.
We will consider employees’ accessibility needs and any individual accommodation plans during performance management, career development, advancement and redeployment, where these processes are used. Individualized workplace emergency response information will be provided and reviewed where required.
Accessibility Training
We provide accessibility training to employees and other people as required by the AODA. Training is appropriate to their duties and covers accessible customer service, applicable accessibility standards and the Ontario Human Rights Code as it relates to people with disabilities.
Training will be provided as soon as practicable and updated when relevant policies change.
Feedback, Complaints and Requests
We welcome accessibility feedback, complaints and requests for accommodation or accessible information by email, telephone or mail. Accessible formats and communication supports for the feedback process are available upon request.
Fabcrest management will review accessibility complaints, consult with the person where appropriate, determine any necessary corrective action and communicate the response in a way that takes the person’s communication needs into account.
